Job Description

Energy Analyst will report to Director of Energy Information Systems

Bithenergy is seeking an analyst with energy experience and a strong understanding and application of Microsoft Excel.  Duties and responsibilities include creating business rules and interpreting Utility Companies rates and riders. The analyst is responsible for creating and reviewing reports, report distribution, and customer service (internally and externally).  The individual will examine & review existing procedures for opportunities to streamline activities to increase productivity.  The analyst will also plan, direct and administer document management, quality assurance and quality control programs that allow organizations to capture, store, retrieve, share, and manage electronic utility data.  This role includes performing analysis and evaluation of complex data sets and derivation of energy savings estimates.



  • Managing work flow processes and ensure procedures are being properly documented and followed.
  • Communicate and maintain a quality plan, to meet contract requirements and define quality procedures pertaining to contract work.
  • Coordinate project development and communicate expectations to team members.
  • Prepare Ad hoc reporting, in response to client specific requests, including energy trend analysis, procurement reporting, and bill reconciliation.
  • Configure and maintain report distribution processes.
  • Resolve  utility account issues.
  • Maintain utility and building information, within database to ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist analysts with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Provide support for critical production systems.
  • Conduct on-going analysis of the business, operating practices, and data flows within and between various systems and applications.
  • Work on special projects, which may include development of scripts and custom applications, OCR program administration, or deployment of new processes and systems.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis by writing scripts an SQL queries on various source of data to find trends and anomalies in data to support projects.

Skills and Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Energy, Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science or similar analytical discipline preferred.
  • 5 years prior related work experience with knowledge of energy calculations, sustainability concepts, and/ or data modeling experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills proficient with PowerPivot, advanced formulas, dynamic ranges, advanced charting, slicers. Using MS Excel to combine and analyze data from various sources, and generate reports and graphics.  Must be able to combine large volumes of data for consolidated reporting.  Power BI experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to interface with tiered levels of clients
  • Experience with enterprise content management systems Kofax Ascent Capture and Kofax KTM desired
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, with reliable time management, project management, and follow through skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and context switch effectively between different activities, projects and teams.
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical skills required.
