The Systems Engineer (Exchange) primary role includes MS Exchange 2010,.

Other areas include Lync, Load Balancers, DNS, DHCP, VIP's, Some Networking, Security and Compliance, etc.), application monitoring, and server support.  Administer and support an Exchange infrastructure to maintain a stable, secure and highly available Exchange email environment through close monitoring and careful maintenance to minimize downtime and outages. Must have proven working knowledge of ADFS, AD, DNS, AD services and Exchange 2010 and DB, Archivers and PS. Must be able to work with DAGS, re-architect the migration of Exchange 2010 applications and databases from physical to VMWare. Configure and deploy Exchange Backups and able to write PS for various needs.



  • Administer and support an enterprise-level Microsoft Exchange 2010 infrastructure.
  • Configure, upgrade and manage servers running Microsoft Operating Systems (OS).
  • Configure, upgrade and manage a Microsoft Exchange environment.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of Exchange servers and related services.
  • Maintain Exchange server build documentation.
  • Database administration (Microsoft Exchange).
  • Define, configure, and troubleshoot Exchange Administrative and routing groups as well as SMTP Connectors.
  • Optimize OS to get maximum benefit of hardware.
  • Daily administration of Exchange.
  • Troubleshoot OS, network and storage related issues.
  • Troubleshoot Exchange related issues when alerted by monitoring software.
  • Monitor and manage log files.
  • Monitor and manage disk space.
  • Ensure Exchange email infrastructure is available and processing E-mail.
  • Schedule server downtime for after hours.
  • Interface with Active Directory (AD) staff.
  • Configure, implement and manage backup solution for Exchange infrastructure.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Exchange disaster recovery document.
  • Assist in implementing message archiving.
  • Work with staff to ensure Exchange is available to users 24x7.
  • Perform software upgrades and patches (bios, firmware upgrades, etc.).
  • Monitor and manage hardware health.
  • Maintain configuration documentation of the Exchange infrastructure.
  • Interface with the vendor technical support.
  • Support migration of mail from Exchange Server to Exchange Online (Office365) or Intake of new migrations to the enterprise
  • Troubleshoot migration issues. Initiate and participate in triage meetings to share knowledge with other engineers and to efficiently resolve customer issues.
  • Provide post-migration support.
